  I think I just found my new favorite place for vermicelli noodles! Their Grilled Pork and Eggroll Vermicelli dish is amazing and I can not wait to come back to eat it again!
  
  I also tried the Rare Filet Mignon Steak Pho which was pretty decent. My only complaint is that it came with minced ginger in the soup and I'm not a fan of ginger so if you also do not like ginger I would suggest you let the staff know to hold the ginger.

  Pho Ngoon has a lot of competition at this location, but I do feel it can stand its ground. The establishment is nested in a tiny plaza with barely any parking on the corner of Valley Blvd and San Gabriel Blvd, this little pho shop is making a bit of a name for itself.
  
  When you first walk in, you can clearly see how small the shop is. The waiter seated us quickly and gave us menus before asking us if we wanted any drinks. Since we came at a slow hour, the service was speedy quick, as we received our order within 2-3 minutes of ordering.
  
  As I was looking over the menu, I noticed that they had the option to "build your own pho" which I feel like is offered at most Vietnamese restaurants, seeing as you can customize your order but it's nice that they put it as it's own item on the menu. I also noticed that they have the option of the thick fresh noodles (pho tuoi) or the thin regular noodles. ***They state on a sign on the wall that they automatically serve the thick noodles unless you specifically  request the thin rice noodles.***
  
  I ordered the Pho Dac Biet and I do have to say it was quite good in the sense of flavor. It had a lot more tendon than other meats though and I wish my bowl had more tribe instead of just he 2-3 small pieces I had. The broth wasn't as hot as I would have liked, it was hot but it wasn't piping hot the way pho usually is when it comes out to the table. The temperature was like hot soup that had been left out for a bit, the bowl would be warm to touch but you could down it without blowing it to cool off. This honestly makes me question the quality of the food. I don't know it it was because it was an off day, or if we came at a weird time (it was 1:30pm) but I wasn't that impressed with the food and I had high hopes. I guess Pho Ngoon is ok, but it hasn't become a place where I would rave about it to friends as of this visit.

  Pho Ngoon competes against many Vietnamese restaurants in the area. I believe their competitive edge is that you can build your own pho, but technically you can do this at any other Vietnamese restaurant. This establishment is at the corner of Valley and San Gabriel. It's where the Popeyes and Boston Lobster sits.
  
  For the food itself it's okay. I'm not a huge fan of the noodle that is used in their pho. I didn't build my own pho and chose a prebuilt combo pho with everything since I'm not familiar with the noodle options here. So the noodle doesn't seem like it's the correct noodle, it's like they used the fresh rice noodle used for like chow fun (texture wise). The broth wasn't amazing or bad, just average and nothing hoisin sauce can't fix.
  
  There is pretty much no service. If you check in on yelp, you get a free drink, and they basically give you a cup of ice with minimal liquid so your drink is basically empty often. They don't check on you often either.
  
  Overall this place is okay.

  Was not impressed with this place. Customer service and taste was lacking. Our waiter barely said anything to us throughout our interactions and was just a mess. On the menu they give you the option to make your own Pho giving you options between what meats you want and what type of noodle (thin or thick). Our waiter didn't give us a noodle option and assumed we had wanted thick noodles.
  
  I ordered the Rare Steak Pho, like I always do, and the taste was really lacking. I've never had pho that lacked so much in taste. (I'm referring to the broth)
  
  Not once did our waiter ask how we were doing. We also had to walk to the counter once we were done to pay for the bill because the waiter was preoccupied sticking all the receipts and slips onto the bill holder. On top of that, they couldn't even find our bill so we had to stand there twiddling our fingers while they got there stuff together.
  
  Honestly, I couldn't think of anything good about this place. That's why they are receiving a one star. Will not return.

  I like the filet mignon pho here. The broth is tasty, the meat is tender and there are chunks of garlic in the soup. It doesn't come with the regular thin pho noodles, but the medium flat sized ones.
  
  The com ga chien ( Cornish hen with fried rice) is a hard pass though. The chicken was dry on the inside and the fried rice was mediocre. The dills on the plate also tasted weird. It's not the typical sweet and sour flavor like other places.
  
  I'd only come back here for the pho. Maybe I'll try their bun dishes next time.
